How did Isabela Fárová discover Mayres?

“How did you discover Mayres?”

I was in Mayres for the first time in 1990. We have a cottage nearby and even though we lived in Belgium, I spent part of my holidays there with my mother. We were exploring new places beyond the "line" but at the time, I had no idea how essential this village would become in my life.

Three years later, my mother and I were stumbling through dilapidated cottages and after returning to Belgium, I bought a house!

I suddenly knew that I had reached my destination. Irrational, intuitive, crazy! 

In 1997 my whole family and I moved from the centre of Brussels to a ruin in Mayres!

"Why do you like Mayres?"

I found what I always wanted here: nature, peace, the seasons, nostalgia, and a few people I like.
